In 1947, Roland Blow and Denis Cote, founded Blow & Cote Construction Company to focus on building roads in the northeastern part of Vermont. The industry began evolving so the company integrated bridge construction in 1957. At this time, the company became incorporated, with the name Blow & Cote, Inc. The company had to incorporate water and sewer construction during the mid-1960s as the demand for road and bridge construction was at a low. In 1971, Denis  bought Roland's share of the company and retained the name. Denis remained a part of the business until his death in 1988. The 1980s brought more complex road and bridge projects that required the use of sheet piling and “H” piles for substructure support.

Blow and Cote, Inc. has repaired and built bridges and roads throughout Vermont and New Hampshire. The company takes pride in its history of being involved in Vermont's covered bridge collection, having built or rehabilitated nearly 20 covered bridges in the state. Marc Cote and his son Nathan, along with a dedicated and experienced team, continue to carry on the name and reputation that Denis and Roland established in 1947.
